How long does counseling take?
Counseling sessions are 45-60 minutes in length. The actual number of sessions depends on you. During your first session, your clinician will gather information to assess your condition and formulate a diagnosis. Following your first session of counseling, you and your clinician will develop a treatment plan that will list your personal goals for improvement. You and your clinician will then review, and possibly revise, your treatment plan on an ongoing basis according to your needs.
If my child is the client, do I need to be there?
Any minor child (under age 18) must be accompanied by an adult for the first visit. Afterwards, you and your clinician will discuss the need for your presence in future sessions.
What about confidentiality?
Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. All information you give us will be kept in strictest confidence. CCS will not convey to a person outside the agency that a client attends or receives services from CCS, or disclose any information identifying a client unless you give us permission in writing. The exceptions include disclosure mandated by a court order or the disclosure is made to medical personnel in a medical emergency. Federal law and regulations do not protect any information about suspected child abuse or neglect from being reported under state law to appropriate state or local authorities. Also, we are mandated to report a threat of suicide or a threat to harm others
How do I make an appointment?
